
Isra Hashmi is a Nurse Practitioner, educator, and community advocate with a passion for aging equity and culturally responsive care. She holds a Bachelor’s in English from UCLA, a Master’s in Educational Counseling, and a Master’s in Nursing. She currently serves as the Academic Director at IQRA Network, where she led the effort to make it the first online WASC-accredited Arabic and Islamic studies program. A certified grant writer, Isra uses her gift for the written word to support causes she deeply believes in. She serves as the sitting Chair of the Strategic Initiatives Committee, where she leads efforts in program innovation, long-term planning, and organizational development. She also provides in-service workshops on cultural competency and sensitivity for healthcare professionals, helping bridge gaps in care for diverse senior populations. With a dual background in healthcare and education, Isra brings systems thinking, compassion, and a deep commitment to elder dignity and inclusion to every role she serves.
